Paraprofessional

Description

Paraprofessionals support students in a safe, structured, and engaging school environment. In this role, you will work alongside teachers and school staff to help students with academic, behavioral, and daily classroom needs. Paraprofessionals play an important role in helping students stay focused, supported, and set up for success throughout the school day.

Responsibilities

Paraprofessionals may support students in classroom settings, one-on-one assignments, small groups, or during transportation to and from school.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting teachers with classroom activities, routines, and student supervision
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with educational, behavioral, or developmental needs
  • Helping students stay engaged, focused, and prepared throughout the school day
  • Supporting safe student transitions between classrooms, activities, buses, or school areas
  • Reinforcing teacher instructions and helping students complete assigned work
  • Encouraging positive behavior, communication, and participation
  • Maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for students and staff

Skills & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Training as HA, PCA, CNA, NA or Paraprofessional required
